Legends of the Mara (LoTM)をプレイする際の要素説明が、公式TwitterとBlogで公開されました。それによると、これまで小出しで投稿されていたVessel、Mara、Sediment Fragmentなどの機能や役割の整理と、Seasonal Catalyst、Shatteredなどの新しい要素に対しての説明がされています。

また、実施時期は2023年夏にシーズン1がおこなわれる予定で、その後シーズン2 … のように続いていき、機能拡張もするシリーズ物のプロジェクトになっていくようです。土地NFTのプロパティであるArtifactやResourceも今後影響するらしいので、かなり奥が深いゲームシステムになるのかもしれません。

It all starts with Vessels. There are three types of Vessels – Hunters, Farmers, and Enchanters. Each can hatch into a corresponding type of Mara if properly nested. However, only one Vessel can be nested at a time, so you’ll need to choose the Mara you wish to hatch wisely.

Once hatched, a Mara can be assigned to an Otherdeed. Depending on its type, the Mara will either farm for Sediment Fragments, hunt on it, or…something else, in the case of Enchanters. (More on them in the coming weeks).

Why farm Sediment Fragments? Voyagers will have the opportunity to combine their Mara with Sediment Fragments and a Seasonal Catalyst to transform their Mara into a more powerful Kodamara. A Kodamara’s look, trait rarity, and game function are all influenced by Voyager’s choices.

Why set your Mara to hunt? Otherside is under attack. Voyagers can deploy their Koda, Mara, and Kodamara to defend it from The Shattered, mysterious titans that awakened shortly after the Vessels descended.

なぜ、Sediment Fragmentを育てるのですか？
Voyagerは、MaraにSediment FragmentとSeasonal Catalyst（季節触媒）を組み合わせることで、より強力なKodamaraに変える機会があります。Kodamara外見、特性の希少性、ゲームの機能は、すべてVoyagerの選択に影響されます。

最も希少なKodamaraを生み出すレシピは、時間の経過とともに失われてしまっているため「Seasonal Catalyst」「Sediment Fragment」「Mara」の、どの組み合わせが最良の結果をもたらすかは、Voyagerの実験にかかっています。

なぜ、Maraに狩りをさせるのですか？
Othersideは攻撃を受けているからです。VoyagerはKoda、Mara、Kodamaraを配備することで、Vessel降下直後に目覚めた謎の巨人、Shattered（シャッタード）から守ることができます。

Shatteredを倒すと宝物が残されます。効率よく倒せば倒すほど、より希少価値の高い宝物が手に入ります…

Otherdeed Expandedは、LoTMのゲームプレイのロックを解除し、その特性は戦略に影響を与えます。今後のシーズンでは、Artifact（アーティファクト）やResource（リソース）が登場して、各Otherdeedの特性についても時間の経過と共に明らかになります。
